It’s a jungle out there. All of us know it. We get up, go out into the world to face the other wild animals known as clients, co-workers, bosses etc.
We battle the same foes in business as we do in our private lives but why do we forget to apply the same principles to our clients?
Christopher Cunningham believes you can build your Christian life as well as your spiritual life while bein a top-notch triple A sales person without missing a beat. His Book
Jungle Warfare: A Basic Field for Christians in Sales is written like a devotional. It is designed to go 26 days as part of a regular Bible Study. Each day is broken up in parts. You start with a daily verse, battle plan, prayer a place for your thought and how you will reach your goals. It give you good information, it is not to long I times myself one day it took me 20 minutes to complete the entire lesson.
It is important to note from other literature on sales motivation that changing the insides of the salesperson is often the most difficult thing to do. Having spent a stint in sales myself, you find moments that you are victimized by your own “head game” and “Stinking thinking” which at times locks up your abilities to go with the flow of rejection that comes along with the sales profession. I was impressed at how well Cunningham worked this through.
I read the book through, and am now going back and reading it as it is supposed to be read as a devotional. Make sure you use the comment section, and explore your heart. You will be amazed at the change in you, the less pressure you will feel in fulfilling your quota.
